Emily Sisson came into race day of the Chicago Marathon feeling confident. Not knowing what the race would hold.
Sisson, 30, is a professional runner for New Balance and has quite the track record. Prior to breaking the American Record in the women's marathon, Sisson has held a variety of records. She set the American record in the women's half marathon early this year with a time of 1:07:11.
These records are not only a huge step for women's progress in the sport of track and field, but a reminder that the best is yet to come in the sport.
